Binsted has a great community of residents and friends who enjoy and are proud of our village and its landscape.
We are a medieval-style village spread out around our former common fields rather than all gathered into one settlement. We share the shops and school in the neighbouring village of Walberton: but of course we still also gather together in Binsted - in the pub, in the barn, in houses - and in the countryside we care about.
We also like to see visitors enjoying the quiet beauty of our landscape. We are working to understand and enhance our oasis of countryside, and to share knowledge of its wildlife and heritage, in a group called MAVES - the Mid Arun Valley Environmental Survey Group. More information can be found on www.maves.org.uk .
And we, and our friends, are also still fighting to defend Binsted against proposals to route an A27 Arundel Bypass through our countryside: please sign up as a Supporter on Arundel Bypass Neighbourhood Committee's website www.arundelbypass.co.uk to be kept informed.
This website, www.binsted.org, is about Binsted Village, and is for all our residents and friends to enjoy.
